My name is Brittney Thompson and I am a senior from Marshville, North Carolina majoring in Special Education and Elementary Education and minoring in Reading Education. I am grateful to be a Mebane Scholar because it has provided me with the opportunity to learn from in-service teachers and gain specific skills for implementing evidence-based literacy practices to students. I am currently student teaching at Hemby Bridge Elementary School. After I graduate in Spring 2024, I will work as an EC Classroom Teacher at Niner University Elementary School.
