Corinne Brion

Corinne Brion is an Associate Professor of K-12 Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she teaches courses in the Master of School Administration and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership programs.

The frameworks for her research are cultural proficiency and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Her lines of inquiries focus on student and adult development, professional development and professional learning, learning transfer, third spaces, and women and girl’s empowerment.

Brion recently finished her first book called Global Moral Leadership in Schools, Homes, and Third Spaces. She recently was awarded a Fulbright Scholar Award in Madagascar. Corinne is also the founder of a nonprofit organization, called Turtle Up in Ohio (soon to be in North Carolina) and in Ghana.

After growing up in Vernon, a town in Normandy, France, Brion left home for a business school in Paris. As soon as she graduated, she immigrated to the USA. There she attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland, earning a master’s in education while also opening a Waldorf-inspired school. After a few years of being principal of the charter school, she decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego. In May of 2017, Brion proudly accepted the William Foster Outstanding Dissertation Award for her work in Ghana and Burkina Faso.
