Cassandra Himes currently serves as the Assistant Director for Graduate Initial Licensure. Himes has over 15 years of K-12 teaching experience, spanning three states: South Carolina, North Carolina, and Texas. She taught high school English and served as an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Coordinator before transitioning to higher education. Her experience and expertise in higher education include recruitment and retention.

As a product of the North Carolina Alternative Teacher Pathway, Himes is excited to share her experiences and support candidates for the Graduate Certificate in Teaching through the enrollment process.

Education

Himes holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Morris College and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction Design from Concordia University.
