Alumni Council
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Alumni Council in the Cato College of Education is to further promote close ties among alumni and to strengthen the relationship between our alumni, the education community, and the College.
OUR FOCUS
- Increase alumni representation and involvement with the Cato College of Education
- Serve as Ambassadors for the Cato College of Education at alumni events, and in our communities and places of work
- Support Cato College of Education students through mentoring, recruitment and career planning programs
- Give of our resources to advance the Cato College of Education
The Cato College of Education has more than 20,200 alumni, with many residing in the Charlotte region. We are a powerful force in moving UNC Charlotte and the Cato College of Education to the forefront of 21st century education. We hope you will join us in leading this charge.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Alumni Council members serve two-year terms and may be eligible to serve an additional consecutive term. All members are expected to attend regular scheduled meetings of the Council. There will be two afternoon/evening meetings hosted annually. In addition, all members of the Council will serve on one standing committee and at various times, may volunteer to serve on an ad hoc committee. The Standing Committees of the Council include Student-Alumni Engagement, Development, Community Service, Alumni Awards, and Alumni Networking. Regional members (i.e. those who reside outside of the Charlotte region) may attend Council and committee meetings remotely via Zoom.

Recruitment for the inaugural 2023-2024 Alumni Council has begun. COED alumni who would like to serve as charter council members are invited to express their interest by contacting the Alumni Engagement Director Elisabeth Wilson elisabeth.wilson@uncc.edu.
