Kristin Sinclair is a doctoral student in the Special Education and Child Development Program at UNC Charlotte. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from West Virginia University and a Master’s Degree in Special Education, along with a Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology from East Carolina University. With 24 years of experience in various educational roles—ranging from teacher to coach, district leader, and adult educator—Kristin has dedicated her career to supporting students, particularly those with disabilities. She firmly believes that it is the duty of educators to ensure that every student learns to read. Kristin is passionate about impacting pre-service teachers by equipping them with the skills and tools necessary to provide the best educational opportunities for all students in their classrooms. She continues to cultivate her own skills to support and prepare future educators as ‘game changers’ for exceptional learners and their families.

Her dissertation project holds the title “Exploring Teacher and Student Experiences with Sound Walls in Early Literacy Instruction”.
