Maghan Kirschner
Maghan Kirschner is a Lead Instructional Coach for the New Teacher Support Program who supports veteran and beginning teachers by cultivating strong relationships to allow for differentiated coaching and support. She believes that every student and every teacher deserves an advocate in order to close opportunity and achievement gaps.
Kirschner has supported over 175 teachers in her 5 years with NC NTSP. Currently, she is learning and growing from the work of Jim Knight and his book Impact Cycle. She believes that ownership in the coaching cycle lies in the hands of the teachers and advocates strongly for teacher voice and choice in goal setting.
Kirschner is a licensed in the area of Social Studies (6-12), School Administration, and a certified Curriculum Instructional Specialist (K-12). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Instruction and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision from UNC Charlotte, along with an Administrator’s License through New Leaders.
When she is not serving students and teachers in her schools, Kirschner can be found spending time with her husband, Clayton, daughters Kaylee Jo (9) and Hadley Mae (4) and their dog Rhett (2). She spends weekends cheering on the Lake Norman Giants as a recreational cheer coach as well as the Michigan State Spartans! Go Green!
