Melissa McCullough
Melissa McCullough brings over 25 years of experience in education to her role as Director of Accreditation and Assessment, spanning K-12 teaching and leadership as well as higher education program coordination and faculty development. Her work focuses on strengthening educator preparation programs through collaboration, curriculum alignment, and a commitment to student success. She has led program reviews and supported faculty in using data to reflect on and improve teaching and learning.
Before joining the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, McCullough served as an Assistant Professor of Education and Program Coordinator at Lees-McRae College and previously worked as a high school social studies teacher, department chair, and instructional leader in North Carolina public schools.
She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. Her research interests include assessment and continuous improvement in educator preparation, literacy across content areas, and equity-centered practices. Outside of her professional work, Melissa enjoys spending time in the mountains of North Carolina and values opportunities to connect with family and community.
