Advisory Board
The College of Education’s Advisory Board serves as a vital link between the college and the community. It is comprised of distinguished individuals who are committed to improving our local and regional educational systems through their support in these main areas:
- Serve as a body of cognitive diversity that can be called upon for high-level generative thinking around specific priorities that would be initiated for the forward movement of the college (2 or 3 year term)
- Offer counsel to the Dean on matters for which external advice is critical, such as strategic planning, programs and projects, and the college’s physical presence in our community
- Help form an advocacy network for the college and act as an ambassador for the college with the broader Charlotte and regional community, alumni, and other external constituencies
- Advise and assist in external relations efforts, particularly in establishing the Cato Leadership Gift Society
- Aid the college where possible in recruiting students into degree and certificate programs as well as in placing students upon graduation
