Bio

Dr. Teresa Petty is a Professor and Associate Dean for the Cato College of Education at UNC Charlotte. She received her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her M.Ed. in Instructional Computing Technology and her B.S. in mathematics from UNC Greensboro. Teresa’s teaching focuses on instructional design, teacher leadership, and mathematics methods. Her research interests include online teaching/learning and National Board Certification. Teresa is currently investigating the impact of National Board Certification on both teachers who receive the certification and their students. She is also developing a new Graduate Certificate program that focuses on National Board Certification. This program will benefit teachers who are interested in this certification process.
